Purpose of Position
Provide first-line medical care to patients presenting to the Emergency Department of the Hospital, including assessment, investigation, treatment and referral for ongoing non-inpatient care.
The role of the Career Medical Officer is to provide a high quality of clinical care to patients attending the Emergency Departments through their :
Selection Criteria Evidence of Medical Registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
Experience in an emergency department specifically as a single Practitioner in charge for at least 12 months at the level of PGY 4 and above.
Demonstrated experience working in an Emergency Department particularly in a rural setting.
Demonstrated high level of communication skills.
Demonstrated ability to work effectively and harmoniously as a team member.
Experience in teaching clinical staff.
Demonstrated evidence concerning continuing medical education. This position requires a Working With Children Check (WWCC) issued by the Office of the Children's Guardian.
