JOB DESCRIPTION :

This role undertakes research and provides assistance to the Chief Commissioner to ensure the efficient functioning of the Chief Commissioner’s office.

SELECTION CRITERIA : ESSENTIAL

ESSENTIAL

  • Experience in undertaking research and identifying and using appropriate sources of information.
  • High level interpersonal skills including written and verbal communication and well developed capability to deal with the public, employer and employee organisations and legal practitioners.
  • Proven computer literacy, especially in word processing and file tracking systems.
  • Knowledge of how to use databases and Excel spreadsheets to produce analysis of business data.
  • Ability to work co operatively and effectively with others.
  • Ability to work without supervision and under pressure.
  • Current C’ class driver’s licence.
  • DESIRABLE

  • Tertiary qualification in related discipline or deemed equivalent.
  • Knowledge of the Industrial Relations Act 1979 and Public Sector Management Act 1994 and respective Regulations, and other relevant legislation.
  • Knowledge of the procedures and functions of The Western Australian Industrial Relations Commission.
  • Experience working in tribunals, particularly in an industrial relations context.
