    About the division / project

    Monadelphous is a leading engineering group which provides mechanical and electrical Labour at the 6 Mile, 7 Mile, 8 Mile and Tom Price rail workshops, located in the Pilbara region of Western Australia.

    We are currently seeking experienced Rail Track Mechanical Fitter / Light Equipment Mechanics to join our growing rail workforce and to be a key member of our workshop team based in the 6 Mile Operations.

    You will play an integral role in supporting the 6 Mile workshop plant facilities including maintenance and breakdown activities.

    Working on a 2 : 2 family friendly roster, with ongoing work with the potential for permanency for the right candidate.

    Key responsibilities

  • Travelling autonomously daily in light vehicle on dirt roads along the RIO Rail Network
  • Fixing and diagnosing faults in various types of light to heavy equipment such as rail saws and grinders, Bobcats and loaders
  • To be successful in this position you should ideally possess :

  • Trade Certificate - Mechanical
  • Basic Fire Training
  • High Risk Licences - DG, LF are highly advantageous
  • Current Australian HR class Drivers Licence.
  • Self-motivated can-do attitude with a strong safety culture
  • Experience working in a workshop maintenance environment as well as in-field breakdowns
  • Ability to work autonomously
  • Good communication skills with use of 2-way radios
