Your responsibilities will include :
A newly created role, based within the Corporate IT team in Adelaide - this will be a diverse role where you will work as part of a geographically distributed team supporting the business.
You will provide high quality and efficient support to maintain project specific IT multi datacentre environments. Including Windows servers, Linux systems, virtualization VMware & Hyper-
V, hardware servers, SAN storage, backup system, switches, routers, wireless systems, VoIP and other IT hardware.
Other day to day tasks include the following :
Install and maintain all server, storage, backup and network hardware
Set up administrator, user and service accounts, maintain system documentation, monitor and tune system performance, deploy system wide software and allocate mass storage space
Assist in providing IT support, for users and IT infrastructure across the project
Completion of server, storage, network administration tasks as required
Manage and maintain backups
Interact with users and evaluate vendor products
Provide recommendations to purchase hardware and software
Coordinate installation and provide backup recovery within and outside of operational hours as required
Provide backup support to the flight simulator team as required working to roster arrangements
Contribute to the development and monitoring of policies and standards, and business improvement initiatives for allocation related to the use of computing resources
Develop solutions to a variety of complex problems, independently determine and develop an approach to solutions, then implement approved actions.
Solutions should be imaginative, thorough, and practicable, and consistent with organisation objectives
Actively identify improvements to processes and information systems to facilitate decision making, analysis and the achievement of positive outcomes
Actively contribute to the successful completion of milestones associated with specific programs and projects
About you :
Substantial knowledge and experience with MS Active Directory, Windows Server, VMware vSphere, RH Linux and network support, deployment of new hardware, Virtualization technologies (Hyper-
V, VMware ESXi), FC SAN / IP SAN, Veeam Backup solution, Cisco switch Sub-nets, vLANs, ACLs etc.
Intermediate to advanced skills and experience in the use of Microsoft Suites
Experienced in GP, DNS, DHCP, DFS, WDS, WSUS, RDP, SCVMM, Vcentre Server App, and anti-virus / security / encryption software)
Previous experience with scripting languages (PowerShell, VBScript and Bash), databases (Oracle, SQL) and Web hosting software (IIS, JBoss, Apache, Tomcat) (desirable)
Proven ability to read and generate technical drawings
Complete understanding and wide application of technical principles, theories and concepts, in the field.
Working knowledge of other related disciplines including hardware and software practices
Demonstrated experience working within an engineering or project environment (preferably in the Defence industry)
Special Requirements :
Applicants are required to be Australian Citizens and hold a current or re-instatable NV1 Defence Security Clearance or be eligible to gain this.
