Head of Product Management


Responsible for supporting the Product Managers with product management for the assigned product categories. This includes the specific product mix, stock management and demand planning, product lifecycle management.

Increase sales by developing support resources for sales, customers and manuals.



  • Responsible for Program Management for the ANZ business. This includes and is not limited to; creating new SKU’s whilst managing existing SKU’s.
  • Setup Bill Of Materials (BoM’s) for new parts and bundles. Setup Work Orders for new parts and bundles and maintenance of Parts Master file.

  • Management of suitable stock level and mix for the category, including the formulation of suitable strategies for avoiding product overstock situations.
  • Responsible for the content management of Product Bulletins.
  • Liaise with Global Belkin Product Managers and leverage ideas and product management collateral which has been developed by them.
  • Localise any suitable materials for use in Australia. This would include A+ Content, PRD and Sell in decks.

  • Manage the product lifecycle and / or product portfolio from launch to EOL via Product Managers
  • Continuously review Excess and Obsolete inventory and develop and execute strategies to clear under the direction of PM’s.
  • Continuously analyse inventory levels of product lines and recommend and implement methods to speed up, slow down, or blow out product stock levels in consultation with purchasing, PM and sales.
  • Update and communicate the NPI roadmap via the direction of the Product Managers.

  • Responsible for maintenance of the product development road map and adherence to launch dates as directed by the PM’s and GPM’s.
  • Ensure that products meet required compliance and for maintenance of compliance paperwork and records.
  • Liaise with Product Managers on all aspects of product development.
  • Liaise with Global Belkin Product & Program Managers to maintain awareness of product and vendor issues and to ensure products are brought to market simultaneously with worldwide product launch.
  • Ensure this is then communicated regularly with the Marketing Communications Executive and / or Marketing Manager.

  • Conduct thorough, accurate, exhaustive testing on vendor samples and First Article Samples (FAS)
  • Maintain weekly development spreadsheet and / or other project management tracking tools and systems.
  • Adherence to and understanding of Belkin branding standards
  • Support the PM Team on the content, layout and presentation of product packaging.
  • Collecting and providing product samples for NPI.
  • Packaging, product manual and other proof reading
  • Sending of project requests to design and follow up to ensure quick response.
  • Broadcast new product release information to Sales and other departments.
  • Assist with collating content, editing and proofing catalogues, presentations and other company literature when required.
  • Assist with preparations for trade shows, including attendance when necessary
  • Support Product Managers with any ad-hoc requests to support each of their categories
  • Review role after 6-12 months for inheriting some product categories to manage

  • Maintain up to date competitor knowledge. Monitor competitors, perform ongoing research of competitor product features, mix and product development strategy.
  • Perform ongoing product development research through attending industry trade shows, sales evaluations, monitoring competitors and industry trends, store visits and vendor contact.
  • Periodically, review competitors’ new and existing products to ensure Belkin is cost and feature competitive.

  • Maintain a safe and clean working environment.
  • Liaise with and assist other departments as required.
  • Understand and follow company rules and regulations.
  • Appropriately use all Belkin tools, systems and processes as required.
  • Attend company training sessions or meetings as required.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned or required.

  • Education in Marketing and / or Product Management
  • Experience

  • Previous experience in research and analysis
  • Proven experience in a similar position
  • Skills

  • Proven communication and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency with PC and all MS Office suite products required; familiarity with various Adobe design software products preferred.
  • Well-developed strategic and tactical business acumen, with clear understanding of key business drivers.
  • Exceptional communication skills and ability to build relationships internally and externally.
