We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Casual Chef to join our dedicated team based at James Cook University in Townsville.
Reporting to the Unit Manager, the successful candidate will bring their ideas and demonstrate strength in creating culinary benchmarks in modern flavours and presentation.
Prepare an innovative and exciting menu for students and staff daily
Execute events and functions catering
Offer guidance and support to the kitchen team where needed, to ensure a great experience for all customers
Maintain a customer focus at all times, responding to feedback positively and proactively, implementing great ideas and seeking opportunities for improvement
Ensuring all OH&S compliance is a achieved, adhere to safe work practices and safe food handling procedures
Enhance workplace culture display high levels of customer service, contribute ideas and be flexible to meet the needs of the business
You will be a qualified Chef with Cert III in Commercial Cookery or equivalent
A passion for producing great food and a positive 'can do' attitude
Be a team player, but also be able to work autonomously
You will have the ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines
Attention to detail and great time management is a must
Flexible and adaptive nature, able to fit in with changing teams
The successful applicant will be required to provide a current Police Check (or be willing to obtain one).
