CSA Mine is a high-grade underground copper mine located in Cobar, Central Western NSW. Employing over 300 people, CSA Mine is now looking for a new member to join the team.
We are currently seeking a self-motivated Mine Development and Improvement Superintendent to support the mine’s development department.
Actively promoting a safe work culture within the Development section through recognising and positively reinforcing safe behaviour and effectively managing unsafe behaviour
Ensuring safe systems of work exist for all routine tasks undertaken by the Development section
Ensure timely reporting to the Production Manager of any issue identified which may positively or negatively impact on the mines operations
Lead the development and review of the Operations’ processes and procedures including the development of effective operational standard work procedures and standards
Provide direction and leadership to the Development section through sound decision-making, delegation and behaviour in line with CMPL Values and assist with the setting of operational schedules and goals
Drive productivity, efficiency and cost through operation excellence
Supervise and assist the improvement team to ensure that the requirements of their role descriptions are achieved and their actions are aligned with the LOM plan
Set performance measures for the development team members and the providing of formal feedback on their performance against the criteria
Identify, assess and implement opportunities for business improvement from an operational perspective including maximising effective time on the job and equipment and resource utilisation and minimising wastage and rework
Ensure that the careers of the Development section are effectively advanced through appropriate training and experience
Timely resolution of operational, personnel and resource issues within contract development team ensuring the Production Manager is aware of any unresolved issues
Manage the underground development and improvement activities to achieve safety, quality and production level targets
Monitoring development and production key performance indicators on a progressive basis and preparation of daily, weekly, monthly and periodic progress and variance reports
Daily and weekly planning of underground mining activities to achieve the requirements of the LOM plan
Manage the development contract to ensure production fronts are opened as per schedule, development meters and operational overall and unit costs are achieved
Promote effective communication within the Improvement Team and between the Improvement Team and other relevant departments
Provide assistance to the Production Manager with the analysis and control of operational costs and reporting requirements
Develop and manage operational OPEX and CAPEX budget
Mining Engineering Degree
NSW Mining Engineering Managers practicing certificate
10 + years mining experience
5 + years supervisory experience
Proven experience in managing large teams and projects
