An opportunity has arisen for a 4-7 year PAE regulatory Lawyer / Legal Counsel to join the in-house division of an esteemed professional services organisation.
Working closely with the General Counsel & Senior Legal Counsel of Regulatory & Operations, you will support the GCO’s regulatory & data privacy portfolio on a wide range of issues including :
Advising on privacy and GDPR; as well as managing and resolving data breach incidents in conjunction with both Australian and EU regimes.
Providing regulatory advice to the business on Anti-Money laundering, sanctions, anti-corruption & bribery.
Management of investigations by a wide variety of regulators within Australia & overseas.
Management of Freedom of Information requests as well as preparation of responses.
Liaising with internal team members, data owners, and stakeholders, to ensure timeframes are complied with & to resolve any questions that arise.
Negotiation & drafting of a range of commercial contracts ranging from confidentiality & consultancy to global framework agreements.
Providing strategic advice to the business and liaising closely with the wider global team.

A minimum of 4-7 years’ PAE in the regulatory space either from another in-house organisation or coming out of a leading top-tier or mid-tier firm.
Proven expertise in privacy and a general understanding of the GDPR is essential.
Prior regulatory expertise either in the professional services or financial services sector is preferable.
Strong technical skills with the ability to think on your feet.
Strong interpersonally with an ability to build effective relationships with internal stakeholders across the business.
Autonomous with a confident manner & the ability to effectively negotiate.
