Anglicare have an opportunity for a Dementia Manager to lead our clinical Dementia Care team, based in our Norwest support office on a full-time basis.

We currently have 22 Residential Care facilities based within Sydney metro and are growing our services.

About the role :

Reporting into the General Manager, of Service Development and Practice Governance, this role will require a senior clinical professional with a background and passion for supporting Aging Australians.

This role will support the organisation through developing our strategic planning and oversee the implementation of a range of dementia care initiatives in aged care.

The Manager will lead the ongoing change program within Anglicare’s model of care Rhythm of Life for all aspects of dementia care.

Identifying the need for change, innovation and implementing best practice on an ongoing basis will be critical to the role.

A senior corporate role, reporting to the General Manager Quality and Services Support, will be responsible for quality, compliance, innovation, implementation of best practice and monitoring of outcomes across the varied aged care settings in relation to Dementia Care.

The successful applicant will be working closely with subject matter experts, allied health professionals and clinical nurse consultants in dementia and palliative care as well as connecting with our Research Unit and Learning and Development and Quality and Compliance departments.

Establishing relationships with Managers and Care Managers across our homes will be critical to ensure a multidisciplinary approach to the implementation of the dementia care strategy and model of care.

To be successful in this role you will :

  • Have a strong clinical background in Aged Care - Essential
  • Post-Graduate qualifications in Dementia Nursing - Essential
  • Have experience with mentoring and developing teams.
  • Have experience with preparing and submitting ACFI appraisals.
  • Current driver’s licence and ability and willingness to travel across Sydney metro.
