The Opportunity

Civmec are currently seeking a Junior Civil Engineer to join our project team, based in the Pilbara Region on a FIFO 3 : 1 Roster.

Point of Hire for this position is Perth, W.A.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • To provide engineering support and assistance regarding project management and to assist with engineering duties as delegated to ensure successful project outcomes.
  • Provides technical support to engineering team and Supervisors, to ensure compliance with specified engineering standards, drawings, quality standards and time and profit objectives for the project.
  • Regularly inspecting works during construction, not just at pre-pour inspection, to ensure quality control and construction as per drawings and specifications, working closely with Supervisors to achieve project objectives
  • Monitor procurement of materials, cast ins and consumables for portion of project scope, to ensure works can proceed as per schedule
  • Liaise with client representatives regarding technical queries, inspections, project scheduling and coordinating deliveries
  • Review, create, issue and follow up all request for information (RFI’s) and technical queries (TQ’s).
  • Ensuring register is up to date.
  • Resolve technical issues in an expedient and cost-effective manner
  • Maintain project files and all civil tracking registers, e.g. rebars, concrete, formwork, etc
  • Preparation of work packs
  • Preparation of material requisitions
  • Raising non-conformances
  • Maintain company standards for Quality Assurance purposes
  • Perform other general duties that may be necessary to suit operational requirements as directed
  • About You

  • Tertiary qualifications in structural, civil engineering or construction management
  • Minimum 1- 2 years demonstrated experience in a similar position
  • Proficient knowledge in MS Office suite is essential
  • Previous FIFO experience (preferred)
  • Applicants must be currently residing in W.A due to current border restrictions
  • Good communication skills
