The role of the Product Owner is to define the vision and roadmap for a product and to ensure all stakeholders are across the right level of detail.
This role involves the successfully translation of the roadmap into specific product features, prioritization of what’ work is needed, and management of successful product releases in close collaboration with the delivery team and key stakeholders.
This role is an integral part of the Delivery function. It contributes to ensuring that the Delivery function meets the needs of the organization and clients / customers.
Work with business and technical owners, customer leadership team and sponsors to define the roadmap for a product and ensure all stakeholders are across the right level of detail
Define product roadmap in alignment with the digital strategy
Act as an ambassador for the product internally and externally, and as the primary technical contact for queries related to the product
Understand and interpret market trends, seek feedback from stakeholders and customers and generate insights on product features that add value to a product
Service as a voice of stakeholders and customers
Collaborate with user experience, visual designers and agency partners, to
Define and create engaging and delightful customer experiences
Accept or reject work to ensure that the results are what end-users need
Manage successful product releases in close collaboration with delivery team and key stakeholders
Work with key stakeholders across the company to understand business drivers, considerations and ensure successful product releases
Define release and if relevant sprint goals.
Coordinate the ongoing refinement user stories and / or requirements
Develop and maintain a visible, clear, prioritised backlog of work for implementation
Develop detailed specifications and / or acceptance criteria for product features so that they are clearly understood by the development teams and decide on release dates and content
Monitor the progress of product development, as well as plan for product release
Address delivery obstacles as they arise and manage stakeholder expectations
Contribute to ongoing product iteration, including management of small changes, bug fixes and optimisations, together with larger roadmap initiatives
Role model mindset, behaviours and practices required for effective delivery
Education Bachelor degree in IT / Business / Commerce
Knowledge and skills (general and technical)
5+ years in an Agile innovation or leadership related role
Strong knowledge of Agile and Lean methodologies
Experience in using collaboration and work flow tools, incl. JIRA and Confluence
Demonstrate strong customer / client service orientation with empathy for and effectively response to customer / clients’ needs.
Good understanding of end-to-end customer / client experience
Focus on delivering product quality and customer / client value
Apply critical thinking to solve known or anticipated problems
Ability to quickly adapt and respond to change
Role model continuous improvement by generating and implementing innovative new and better ways of doing things

Product Owner certification : Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO), Professional Scrum Product Owner (PSPO) or similar
