This functionality enables our clients to provide an exceptional customer experience in both sales and service environments and to generate strategic insights in customer management.

The ipSCAPE platform also leverages AI-based technology and intelligent algorithms at the core of applications such as our Virtual Agent Voice and Predictive Dialler.

With the upcoming deployment of our new hybrid architecture on Microsoft Azure, ipSCAPE is on a rapid growth path to expand to an even larger global customer base.

This will require an enhanced operational and technical foundation for the company to achieve scale, resilience, and commercial viability, with capability to manage several new clients and partners in multiple geographic regions.

ipSCAPE therefore seeks to expand its Technology team by appointing a DevOps Engineer who can support the company as it transitions to this new environment, with roles and responsibilities outlined below.

Role overview

The Cloud DevOps Engineer will play a key role in helping to further develop ipSCAPE’s cloud based CX Technology Solution.

You will be working with a committed and dedicated team who are designing and building complex new infrastructure, operational processes, and infrastructure automation.

You will help to further improve current operational capabilities including networking, cloud storage, security, disaster recovery, and high systems availability.

We are rapidly moving towards delivery of a fully metered platform, on-demand scalable solutions, full infrastructure and platform instrumentation, monitoring and continuous deployment capabilities.

We need an individual who is excited by these opportunities and who can help to accelerate the current initiatives and projects which are already underway.

In this role, you will help to define and develop outcomes for technology aligned to business outcomes, to ensure that current and future needs are delivered.

You will work with a range of stakeholders across the business and specifically with the engineering, platform and support teams, providing insights and technical expertise in the design of complex services.

You will play an important and significant part in the future of an Australian business that has been in existence for over 15 years, and which is growing rapidly in new product areas and in multiple geographic regions.

You will also be backed by a fantastic team of people in a can-do, supportive structure.

This is a hands-on role which will be responsible for building CI / CD pipelines, cloud operations, automation and API management.

Your experience with other fast-growing technology companies will help build internal capability and create efficiencies across Technology, Support, Platform and Service Delivery.

Your experience in handling complexity and dealing with a rapidly changing environment will be invaluable as we continue our current transformation journey.

The role will require a collaborative approach and hands-on involvement. You will be part of multiple new developments including the implementation and rollout of new product features, maintenance work and in continually enhancing the product’s features and performance using an Agile (Scrum) development framework.

A commitment to driving innovation and continuous improvement in addition to having extensive experience with business-focused SaaS cloud-based services would be ideal for this role.

What will my responsibilities be?

In this role, your key responsibilities will include :

Gathering and analysing business requirements to develop appropriate infrastructure solutions, covering technical design and operations for both cloud and on premise

Liaising with key stakeholders and infrastructure teams to facilitate the migration of on-premises systems to public and private cloud solutions

Provide technical mentorship, drive innovation and improvement across infrastructure, platform operations, processes, toolsets and the full technology stack

Provide Tier 3 infrastructure and systems support

Building security into DevOps practices and tools

Improve CI / CD processes, support software builds and CI / CD of the development departments

Develop, maintain and optimize automated deployment code for development, test, staging and production environments.

Proactively manage issues / failures and identify common themes, root cause and remediation actions that will strengthen the stability and reliability of the product

Monitor operational reporting, alerting and other required support systems

Identify, investigate, and resolve routine issues and carry out maintenance tasks

Undertake analysis and report on network load and performance statistics.

Promote DevOps best practices and influence, other teams.

About you

You will have 5+ years’ recent working experience as a DevOps Engineer with the skills equivalent to those outlined below :

  • Strong background with Linux and other open-source technologies and tools
  • Solid experience in one or more of the following public cloud platforms AWS / Azure / GCP
  • Strong with a programming language to write reliable code to automate processes. e.g. Python, Powershell
  • Configuration of management tools
  • Automation and streamlining operations using scripting or programming languages
  • Strong technical knowledge and experience in Microsoft and cloud technologies which can include O365, D365, and Azure, Teams, covering security, and networking components
  • Demonstrated skills in the analysis of complex problems, troubleshooting and resolution of high-impact incidents
  • Confident and calm fixing problems under pressure
  • Demonstrated experience with the migration of on-premises solution to the Microsoft Azure cloud platform
  • Broad IT infrastructure knowledge across Databases, DNS, and Load Balancing

  • Proven project delivery experience with the ability to drive change in a high-tech development environment
  • Promote DevOps best practices and work with others to tackle complex technological infrastructure, security or development problems.
  • Create and maintain proper documentation of the platform and infrastructure architecture
  • Proven experience and discipline in working in mission critical environments
  • Demonstrated ability to successfully deliver parallel and / or complex initiatives
  • Excellent communication skills, interacting with both business and technical stakeholders
  • Good understanding and experience with ITIL best practices for Incident, Change and Problem Management
  • Excellent communication skills, with a passion for mentoring and knowledge sharing
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and work independently A self-starter.

  • Creating and improving monitoring, alerts and dashboards for critical performance and success metrics
  • Improving CI / CD from manual / semi-automatic runbooks to fully automated infrastructure-as-code
  • Transforming VMs into stateless containers
  • Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems Management, Engineering or related field or commensurate experience
  • 5+ years’ recent working experience as a DevOps Engineer or 5+ years of experience across technology, or operations in increasingly more complex roles
  • Experience as a Lead Developer / Lead DevOps Engineer
