On any given day you could be designing a mine culvert, contributing to the design of a major piece of infrastructure or assisting a Local Government to manage their floodplain risk through comprehensive modelling.

You will work with a group of highly regarded industry practitioners who value technical expertise and innovation, to apply practical on-the-ground problem solving and engineering solutions and work with their Clients collaboratively to deliver successful outcomes.

  • is outcome focused, understanding when less is more..presents professionally and in a friendly manner to peers and Clients Key Responsibilities + Undertaking hydrological and hydraulic investigation and design for a wide range of studies including transport and mine infrastructure, floodplain management, stormwater management and mine water management.
  • Working effectively within multi-disciplinary teams to support the delivery of design solutions that meet Client and community expectations.
  • Provide technical leadership and oversight+ Contribute to the business strategy and growth of the Brisbane water resources team+ Foster and maintain strong relationships with peers and clients+ Business Development activities and securing sales+ Maintaining an interest in technological advances and applying innovation to project delivery.
  • Producing technical models and reports to a high standard, contributing to KBR's reputation for the delivery of quality project outputs.
  • Committing to safe delivery of our projects. Requirements + Bachelors Degree in Engineering or related field+ Higher degree in hydrology, hydraulics or water resources (preferred)+ Preferably a minimum of 10-12 years experience (however applicants with less experience are encouraged to apply if they can confidently meet the key responsibilities)+ Experience in hydrology and hydraulic models, including RORB, XP-RAFTS, HEC-RAS, TUFLOW, MUSIC, GOLDSIM.
  • Experience with CAD applications (beneficial)+ Experience with GIS applications (QGIS, ArcGIS)+ Experience in technical and study report writing+ Experience managing small to medium sized projects+ Eligible for full membership of IEAust and Registered Professional Engineer of Queensland (RPEQ)+ Excellent verbal and written communication skills Benefits of KBR KBR is committed to supporting the professional development of staff at every stage of their career through in-house training, performance rewards and structured career paths.
