Your new role
Working for Autism SA as an Occupational Therapist - Foundation Skills Group includes, but is not limited to :
Working within a small trans-disciplinary team to deliver holistic early intervention therapy in a group model
Assessing the needs of children utilising appropriate assessments, intervention strategies and processes
Collaboratively developing therapeutic goals and routinely utilising data collection methodologies
Under guidance from other members of the transdisciplinary team, delivering therapeutic interventions for children across all areas of child development
Providing coaching for key staff, families and other service providers
Utilising Occupational Therapy knowledge and skills to provide direct services and consultative support to relevant stakeholders
Facilitating successful inclusion of families and individual
Working collaboratively with other members of the transdisciplinary team, families and staff from other organisations
The roles will be offered as a fixed term contract, with FTE to be negotiated with the successful candidate, until 31 December 2020 with a likelihood of extension and will be based at one or more of the following locations :
What you'll need to succeed
Bachelor of Occupational Therapy
Membership or eligibility for membership with AHPRA as required by the NDIS professional qualification requirements
Demonstrated experience working within or understanding of a trans-disciplinary team
Demonstrated experience working with individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder in a pediatric setting
Demonstrated experience or understanding of the principals of Positive Behaviour Support
Familiarity with goal setting and experience in developing specific goals to meet the child’s developmental needs
Understanding of an holistic approach to child development
