We are providing complex support to people with an intellectual or physical disability who have had contact with, or are at risk of entering, the Criminal Justice System.
At Quakers Hill we are providing drop-in support to people with intellectual disability, cognitive deficit, personality disorder, or mild to serious mental illness to assist them develop life skills and work towards living independently in the community.
As a support worker in this team you will :
Provide mentoring and skill developmentAssist with coaching independent life skills such as cooking, cleaning and budgetingMentor customers to overcome personal barriers and achieve their goalsHelping our customers to engage with their local communities and culture through access to Community Participation Programs and recreational activitiesAdministering medicationAssist customers to meet their individual support plans and Legal obligations
Make It Matter - What you will bring to make a difference in other's lives
Be willing to be available to work a rotating roster which includes mornings, afternoons and weekend shiftsPrevious experience supporting people with a disabilityExperience of supporting people with medication needsExperience of supporting people who have experienced traumaExperience working with people who have a range of behavioral concerns and needsCurrent drivers licenceCurrent Provide First Aid certificateFormal qualifications in Disability, Community Services or Welfare will be advantageous
