About the role

The Recruitment Branch is seeking to establish a pool of proactive, detail orientated Recruitment Officers for possible vacancies which may arise in the next 12 months.

Placements can be made from the pool at any time for commencements during this period, and will be dependent upon skills, experience and best fit.

About you

As a Recruitment Officer you will perform a range of administrative and transactional activities in relation to end-to-end recruitment and selection across the Department.

You will collaboratively work with colleagues within recruitment, HR and also customers across the wider organisation.

You will have excellent attention to detail and will ensure a range of recruitment transactions that support redeployment, attraction, recruitment and selection activities across the department are completed accurately and efficiently.

You will work closely with the team to solve problems and will assist in quality assurance activities. You will be a clear and confident communicator and will provide advice to customers and stakeholders in relation to recruitment, attraction and selection.

You will also have the opportunity to make a valuable contribution to business improvement initiatives within the recruitment branch.

All employees are required to undergo employment screening, which includes a National Criminal History Check and other checks that may be relevant to the position requirements.

  • Statement of experience addressing the following job related requirements, in no more than two (2) A4 pages. Please include examples in your application which demonstrate the three job related requirements below :

  • Applies own expertise to work tasks, learn new products and services and maintain accurate records and file.

  • Builds Productive Relationships - The capacity to responds under direction to changes in client needs and expectations, manage progress and keeps clients informed and provide prompt and courteous service, as well as the capacity to recognise the value of individual differences and work styles.
  • Communicates and Influences Effectively - The ability to explain information using language appropriate to the client while limiting the use of jargon, listen and ask questions to ensure understanding and to confirm that the message has been understood and to discuss issues calmly.
  • Any remaining job related requirements listed in the JDF will be assessed during the selection process.

    Pool Recruitment

    The Department of Justice uses recruitment pools to build a bank of talent for future opportunities. When part of a pool you may be offered a permanent or temporary position, however an appointment is not guaranteed.

    This pool will be open for a period of 12 months from the date of the first appointment. Permanent and fixed-term appointments may be offered as vacancies arise.
