About the Mental Health Department

St. Vincent’s Mental Health (SVMH) includes an adult area mental health service for the inner city areas of Yarra and Boroondara.

The adult mental health service components are : The Footbridge Community Care Unit (CCU), the 44 bed Acute Inpatient Service (AIS) located on the St.

Vincent’s Hospital site, the North Fitzroy PARC and two community mental health services (CMHS) at Hawthorn and East Melbourne (Clarendon CMHS).

Community mental health services comprise the Triage and Crisis assessment and Treatment (CAT) Service and the Primary Intervention Care Team (PICT) includes Extended Triage and HOPE (Suicide Prevention), Continuing Care (CCT), Mobile Support and Treatment (MST) and Homeless Outreach (CHOPS) services.

A Consultation & Liaison Service is provided to the health service. NEXUS Dual Diagnosis Service, the Body Image and Eating Disorders Assessment and Treatment Service (BETRS) and NEVIL Training Cluster are regional services.

Statewide services are the Victorian Dual Disability Service and the Victorian Transcultural Mental Health.

About the Role

An exciting opportunity exists for a suitably qualified Personal Assistant to join the Service Administration team at St Vincent’s Mental Health.

You are an experienced and skilled Personal Assistant with high level communication skills, who is looking for an opportunity to demonstrate their talent by providing support to the Director Clinical Services and the Director POST Graduate Medical Education.

The classification for this position will be YC89 ($66,768 per annum)


  • Provide executive secretarial and administrative support to the Director Clinical Services and Director Post Graduate Medical Education
  • Proactive prioritising and management of competing demands for the Director Clinical Services and Director POST Graduate Medical Education
  • Accurate scheduling of appointments and diary keeping
  • Coordinate interview panels and interviews for all medical staff recruitment and facilitate contracts
  • Provide support to Director Post Graduate Medical Education to maintain Specialist Training Position (STP) reports and supporting access to funding streams
  • Accurate and timely minute taking as required
  • Update and maintain all medical staff rosters and post to Intranet
  • Maintain accurate records of all medical staff leave
  • Qualifications, Skills and Experience

    It is essential that you have demonstrated experience in relevant administration functions, preferably in a health, University or educational setting.
