  • About the role

    We are looking for two highly motivated Directors (Nominated Supervisors) for our 132 place centre, Cape Kids. You would be a part of a service that provides a quality educational experience to young children to which encourages expression of their own ideas through play and learning.

    The centre is uniquely owned and operated by a global mining company.

    This is a unique opportunity to work within a collegial leadership structure, which has two Centre Directors, with shared accountability for the running of the centre.

    It is an opportunity for two dedicated leaders to be a part of re-growing a team and centre to its full potential. The approach of the centre is one which works to the strengths of the individuals needing to be complimented by two proactive and forward thinking individuals to lead and mentor this developing team.

    Reporting to the Manager of Core Services, you will be :

  • Managing, leading and developing a team of approximately 30 professional educators across 6 rooms of various ages from under 12 months to pre school aged children;
  • Leading and developing the team’s skills in early learning framework to application, to achieve quality learning outcomes for Weipa’s kids;
  • Co managing the centre’s financial reporting and budgeting requirements and leading the centre’s day to day operations, with the support of a shared Assistant Director;
  • Implementing the centre’s philosophy and ensuring it is being reflected in the day to day practice with the team and at the centre;
  • Building and engaging with local communities and creating strong ties and relationships with the centres' families and other local services;
  • Working closely with the Assistant Director to bolster occupancy through community networks;
  • About you

    To be successfully considered for this role, you will have :

  • Experience in managing, leading, guiding and developing a large team
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal and strong interpersonal skills, to be able to work in a shared accountable role
  • Previous experience in leadership of a large centre and leading change with high team engagement
  • A proven understanding of the National Quality Framework, National Law & Regulations & the Early Learning Framework
  • Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care or higher
  • Current Working with Children Card (Blue Card)
  • It will also be beneficial if you have :

  • Anaphylaxis, Asthma, CPR and First Aid Certificates
