    About the Role ...

    Food Services Assistants are valued team members who report to the Cook / Chef and assist with preparation of food and hospitality services providing a high quality dining experience for our residents.

    Food Services Assistants are responsible for providing a high standard of food safety in preparation and serving of meals and hospitality services in a residential aged care setting, including following directions from the Cook / Chef with kitchen cleaning, safe storage of foods, serving of meals to residents and assisting with preparation of specific dietary requirements for residents.

    We have casual bank shifts available, across a variety of (rostered) Monday to Sunday - AM, PM shifts.

    You are a highly organised, energetic and self-motivated individual - someone who can manage their time and be flexible to the need and priority.

    You'll have a high level of teamwork with colleagues and empathy and compassion too.

    To be successful in this role you would need to possess the following :

    Essential skills and competencies :

  • Teamwork with colleagues
  • Friendly and positive personality
  • Effective communication skills
  • Experience in hospitality, preferred in aged care
  • A passion for working in aged care setting
  • Food Safety Certificate
  • Computer and documentation skills
  • Understanding of Hygiene and Safety practices in aged care
  • Current police check
  • Desirable Experience and Qualifications :

  • Work experience of 6 months or more in aged care or Hospitality
  • Certificate II or III in Hospitality
  • Trade Qualification as a Cook
  • An understanding of Aged Care Standards, continuous improvement, accreditation in Aged Care and ACFI requirements
  • An understanding of Food Safety and OH&S in aged care
