    We are currently looking internally for an experienced and passionate community support worker to join Silver Chain Group in the position of Care Aide within our Everglades Day Centre team.

    The successful applicant will be required to support our Silver Chain Day Centre in Willetton. To meet the community needs we are offering a Permanent Part Time contract with a guaranteed 30hrs per fortnight.

    Applicants must be able to commit to shifts between Monday to Friday, between 8am to 4pm.

    Key responsibilities

    Our Care Aides deliver exceptional care and support to our clients, enhancing and encouraging the client’s ability to participate in their own care to maintain their independence.

    This unique opportunity will see you engaging with members of the community across a variety of activities such as, exercise, arts and crafts, beauty treatments, cooking, gardening as well and board and card games.

    Your flare for encouragement and engagement will be well received. As part of the role you will also be required to assist with, toileting, mobility and meal preparation

    Additional duties will include but are not limited to :

  • Preparing large, family style meals (for approx. 20 clients)
  • Collaboration with preparing menus and food deliveries
  • Actively participate in Food Safe programme and conduct audits where necessary
  • Be confident in driving our company van to residential addresses to collect clients and bring them to their chosen day centre, as well as take clients to enjoy off site excursions.

    To be successful in this role, you will possess :

  • Certificate III in Aged Care, Individual Support, HACC or Disability.
  • Experience delivering low, moderate and complex care, preferably within the community.
  • Experience within food preparation and cooking for 15 (or more) people
  • Fantastic interpersonal skills with the ability to prioritise workload and work independently.
  • Solid working knowledge of the Wellness Approach (HACC) and understand the concept of early intervention and restorative care.
  • Current full C class motor vehicle driver’s licence (with no restrictions)
  • Under the Aged Care act 1997, successful candidates will be required to provide a satisfactory National Police Clearance prior to commencement.
