Key Responsibilities :

  • Accountable for the scale, pricing, geographic strategy and redundancy strategy / requirements for the Programmable Network NFV farms (Currently spread across 7 global Data Centres, but will expand.)
  • Will look into the expansion strategy and prioritisation of Programmable Network L2 Pops and L3 interconnects with internal and external networks.
  • Define the product structure and commercial strategy for creating point to point connections (Flows) on the platform.

  • Define the requirements and facilitate the delivery of Analytical tools for customer and internal Telstra use. This includes customer reporting on usage, billing as well as value added applications which may be sold at a premium or add-
  • on to the base platform.

  • Manage the product / commercial relationships with key partners on the platform including (but not limited to) Cisco, Juniper, Palo Alto, Fortinet, Equinix, AWS, Microsoft, Checkpoint working closely with legal and procurement.
  • Be the product lead for pricing strategy for all components live on the platform ensuring the integrity, consistency and presentation of pricing (through digitised pricing tools) working closely with the pricing teams and software development team
  • Accountable for delivering digitised customer terms and conditions for every jurisdiction in which Programmable Network is offered.
  • In charge of all technical, customer facing documentation including digitised how to’ guides and detailed specifications for all components on the platform.
  • Provides a digitised set of help functions for customers including chat, e-mail and interactive ask and help functions.
  • Accountable for response times to customers through any digital interfaces

  • Create platform cadence reporting including platform performance, capacity and response times and most importantly produce customer experience metrics.
  • Work closely with the front end of the business to determine customer / market / sales priorities for Flow capacity, pop coverage etc.
  • and feed into the roadmap role.

    Other Accountabilities

  • Be a supporting function on big deals’ supporting the sales teams to land new customers and driving the technical and supporting cast pf product managers to provide data and collateral as needed.
  • Attend bid-forums as necessary to represent the Product Management point of view and facilitate the approval (or not) of non-standard bids.

  • Be a leading member of the overall Programmable Network product leadership team helping to steer the overall direction of the programme and being jointly accountable for the delivery of the overall business case
  • Qualifications :

  • Software Defined Networking
  • Networking (background in MPLS or private lines or Ethernet)
  • Cloud networking
  • Software development process (Agile, Dev ops)
  • Product management skillset (developed and managed in-life products)
  • Digitisation (understanding of how to deliver digital products)
  • OpenFlow & Openstack technology
  • Disruptive commercial and go to market models
  • Experience :

  • Previous experience of managing product portfolios (Product development, technical product definitions)
  • Previous experience managing virtual technology & product management skilled team
  • Experience in launching new technologies into new markets & disrupting markets
  • Experience in developing and executing product strategy
  • Experience influencing senior stakeholders internal and external
  • MBA or formal commercial training an advantage
