About the Role

This is an opportunity to join the WooliesX team during an exciting time of growth and innovation. You will help us solve challenges through world-class creative ideas.

Based in Surry Hills, you’ll be supporting the SEO & Digital Content Production’ chapter which forms part of the wider Content’ agile principal chapter.

The chapter’s mission is to define and manage optimised, best-in-class, tailored content designed to support key customer missions across our owned and earned channels.

We define content strategy, innovation, velocity, curation and aggregation approach.


  • Participate fully within the SEO & Digital Content Production’ chapter, contributing to creating a respected and valued service to deliver highly customer-focused outcomes, demonstrating a commitment to excellence and continuous improvement.
  • Receive briefs from internal stakeholders, distil briefs to core consumer insight and work with the internal designers to deliver required creative output against a brief.
  • Lead the delivery of world-class work and campaigns in accordance with our standards across multiple digital channels including but not limited to web, email, social, programmatic, video, etc.
  • Produce clear, compelling, and engaging copy for our channels, while also understanding the strategy and concept behind the work.
  • Write all holistic content, including copy for brand identities, brand campaigns, digital experiences, social media content, activations and more, all while adhering to tight deadlines.
  • Coordinate multiple campaigns and / or projects at one time and ensure editing quality control, deadlines and targets are met.
  • Strong understanding of digital and social platforms as well as their use within marketing.
  • Work collaboratively with our internal legal, policy, brand and nutrition teams (Where applicable) to ensure copywriter briefs and produced copy aligns to internal approvals.
  • Lead and foster an environment of collaboration and inspiration.
  • Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in English, Journalism, Advertising, Communications, or equivalent working experience.
  • 5+ years of copywriting experience within an agency / in-house studio.
  • Experience in food writing is preferred to produce accurate content themed across varying forms including food guides, how-to’s, FAQs, listicles and long form food focus articles.
  • Experience in writing website product descriptions is also advantageous.
  • Excellent and diverse portfolio compelling storyteller.
  • Strong editing and conceptual skills.
  • Ability to receive research insights from the wider team to translate into a copywriting brief for production. Being able to conduct your own research into a given topic to aid with copy brief / production from varying sources is also key.
  • Stellar collaborator - Demonstrated experience working with diverse and remote teams, ability to work with diverse teams and personality types
  • Exceptional communication skills.
  • Understanding of and application of basic SEO fundamentals when it comes to copywriting would be advantageous.
  • Ability to develop, translate and leverage strategic messages for marketing communications tactics.
  • Ability to aggregate and synthesize large volumes of information from different sources technical, business, marketing, strategy, industry and more.
  • Strong client communication skills.
  • Ability to direct others on the content and creative execution.
  • Ability to confidently present creative ideas and concepts.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment.
  • Positive attitude with a relentless drive towards quality and consistency.
  • Must be self-motivated, resourceful and proactive.
