We operate from locations in NSW, northern WA and the Top End ofthe NT. Our specially trained doctors, nurses and paramedics usehelicopters, aeroplanes, medi-jets and road ambulances to bring ahospital level of care to over 5,000 patients each year.
We alsodeploy medical professionals to remote oil, gas & mining sites,both onshore and offshore.
We currently have an excellent opportunity for a Safety andQuality Officer to join the Northern Territory Operations. Thisposition will report functionally to the Head of Safety &Quality and operationally report to the Head of NorthernOperations.
Key responsibilities include :
Conduct the safety inspection programs of facilities and equipment across the NT operations in Darwin, Katherine and Gove.
Assist managers and staff in ensuring appropriate compliance checks, analysis and risk assessments along with scheduled and ad-hoc inspections across sites.
Assist operations on hazard prevention strategies and assist in their implementation.
Assist managers with incident and injury reporting ensuring accurate records are delivered and maintained.
Maintain all facilities to a high standard by organising prompt solutions to defects.
Conduct general safety information sessions to team members.
Assist with the preparation of system and internal audits and help in regular audits to ensure NT processes and systems and comply with legislation, policies and procedures.
Provide assistance with external audit programs including certification and regulatory audits
Develop skills and knowledge in relation to CareFlight’s certified management systems ISO9001 (Quality), AS4801 (Safety) and ISO14001 (Environment).
Assist to administer the certified document control procedures as they relate to all departments across CareFlight.
Develop skills and knowledge to maintain / update the quality aspects of the QSE databases.
Assist in the preparation and provision of quality and safety reports to senior management.
To be successful in this role you will identify as Aboriginal orTorres Strait Islander and have the following :
Work experience in a setting with a strong safety, quality and environment focus (e.g. Oil, Gas & Mining, Aviation).
Hold a current Driver’s Licence.
Excellent interpersonal communication skills.
Strong organisational skills with the capacity to manage multiple tasks and ensure effective completion of tasks within deadlines.
Ability to plan, prioritise and problem solve.
Team orientation and a Can-Do attitude.
High attention to detail and proven ability to work autonomously
The following will be highly regarded :
Relevant qualifications in safety and / or quality or a willingness to obtain these qualifications
Demonstrated experience working in a safety, quality and / or environment role or active participation in safety, quality and environment activities in a work place
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Access)
