About the business

The Foreshore Camping precinct operates approximately 1,200 powered and non-powered camp sites, and is a prime low-cost family holiday destination, between November and April each year.

This seasonal operation generally caters for 100% occupancy at peak season times, servicing approximately 6000+ campers.

The Shire’s halls operations manage bookings of 31 halls and 37 recreation reserves throughout the year, taking bookings from not-

for-profit and commercial organisations and sporting and community groups.

About the Role

This front-line role provides a direct service to the Shire’s Foreshore Camping and Halls customers, working predominantly from the Rosebud Foreshore Camping Office.

The position is responsible for the receiving, recording and coordination of bookings, receival, receipt and reconciliation of payments from campers and hall users, as well as field attendance to monitor operations, assist customers and associated Foreshore and Halls queries.

Job Tasks & Responsibilities

  • Respond to customers, to colleagues, customers and members of the public by telephone, email and face to face in an effective, efficient and timely manner, either in the office or in the field.
  • Bookings of all facilities and reconciliation of income to bookings at each facility. Liaise closely with facility users and prospective users of Shire facilities and services, community groups and organisations, educational institutions and other providers of Shire services in the community.
  • Explain the fees, bonds and application processes and any other special requirements of the facility to potential hirers and regular users.
  • Provide application forms with the conditions of hire to potential customers. Ensure all forms are completed accurately.
  • Action incoming customer enquiries and requests related to facilities and bookings in a timely manner.
  • Facilitate onsite inspections with users if required.
  • Log necessary maintenance requests for Shire Facilities, as required.
  • Skills, Experience & Other Requirements

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite of applications and experience in booking management systems.
  • Competent keyboarding skills and the ability to use a range of computer software programs necessary for the recording and transaction of customer requests, receipting of customer payments.
  • Efficient communication skills, to ensure the effective transfer of information to and from customers.
  • Demonstrated experience in a high-volume customer service environment.
  • Knowledge of Foreshore Camping and Halls requirements.
  • Understanding the Shire’s maintenance requirements for the Foreshore precinct.
  • Efficient telephone management skills, to ensure the effective transfer of information to and from customers.
  • Hold an Employee Working with Children Check (mandatory)
  • Be prepared to undertake an Australian Criminal History Check (mandatory)
  • Hold a current Drivers Licence (mandatory)
  • Software includes RMS (Reservation Management System), Merit Case Management System, Records Management System, Microsoft office suite, Objective, Internet.
