Position Summary

Conduct R&D on therapeutic antibody discovery projects at Teva Pharmaceuticals Australia. In particular, there will be a focus on protein expression, purification and analysis of high quality protein reagents as well as design and execution of investigative stability studies.

Additional responsibilities span a range of aspects of therapeutic antibody development including molecular biology, cell line development, candidate cell line screening, and analysis of protein- protein interactions.

This hands-on laboratory role employs the following capabilities :

  • Demonstrate strong understanding of physicochemical stability pathways and technical expertise of analytical technologies, in particular HPLC methods, to support development of products
  • Manage timelines, troubleshooting of processes, instrumentation, and equipment to ensure timely achievement of targets
  • Continued development of the analytical capabilities of the organisation through implementation of new technologies
  • Interface with other functions in product development such as lead antibody discovery, preclinical, cell line development and CMC
  • Act as a mentor for the junior staff and build team to support these activities through the provision of coaching and emphasis on best practices
  • Others Duties :

  • Maintaining detailed, accurate laboratory books
  • Preparation of submission ready documents to support regulatory filings
  • Complying with all current policies and procedures
  • Corporate citizenship, including serving on in-house committees
  • Qualifications

    Post graduate education (i.e. PhD, Masters ) or equivalent experience in purification and physicochemical characterisation of proteins, with a focus on antibodies

    Skills & Experience

  • Proficient use of Agilent ChemStation and Waters Empower™ driven chromatography systems.
  • Thorough understanding of and practical expertise in common protein stability indicating methods (including but not limited to DSC, DLC, HPLC methodologies)
  • Able to make responsible decisions on assigned matters, establish professional scientific standards and procedures, consult, recommend and advise in speciality scientific areas.
  • Working effectively in a team environment
  • Strong presentation skills; Able to present ideas and concepts effectively to peers
  • Excellent professional writing skills and record keeping
  • Actively interested in therapeutic development
  • A can-do attitude, willing to take on new assignments
  • Well organised and able to coordinate multiple activities simultaneously
  • High level of integrity
