About the role
In this pivotal role, you will investigate, assess, plan, designand maintain coastal infrastructure (boat ramps, jetties, sea wallsetc).
In addition to providing high level technical support andadvice on marine infrastructure and coastal engineering, you willensure that Council’s Coastal Facilities are maintained in amanner which protects the community and coastal assets whilepromoting the City where the coast comes to life .
You will liaise and negotiate with commercial operators aboutthe use of marine infrastructure ensuring they meet structurallimitations and conditions of use, as well as undertake conditioninspections, and maintenance of coastal facilities andinfrastructure.
You, in the role
You have successfully attained your degree in Civil Engineeringor equivalent and have been able to use this knowledge successfullyin previous roles.
You have comprehensive knowledge andunderstanding of coastal engineering, coastal processes, coastalmanagement, marine infrastructure maintenance, statutory approvalprocesses and regulations.
You have extensive experience informulating, designing and implementing coastal engineeringinvestigations and works.
You are committed to the ongoing professional development, youpossess sound project management skills and have a focus onexcellent customer service and decision making skills.
Adegree in Civil Engineering or equivalent is essential as well as aC class driver’s licence. A qualification in projectmanagement is desirable.
