    On behalf of a Geelong based Federal Government Agency we are looking for an energetic and highly organised Procurement Manager to work within the agency and provide expertise and technical knowledge across a wide range of activities.

    This is an assignment until 23 December 2020. The role will be based in Geelong paying up to $51.50 per hour plus super. Occasional travel will be required to meet with various teams across the organisation.

    As this role is within the Federal Government, applications are required to hold Australian Citizenship in order to be considered.

    We are unable to consider Permanent Residents.

    About the Role

  • Under limited direction, responsibilities will include;
  • Provide supervisory and leadership to team members
  • Provide accurate and specialised advice including anticipating problems and contributing to issues management
  • Ensure knowledge of and compliance with legislation, financial and administrative frameworks and government decision making processes
  • Setting priorities for the work area, maintaining team cohesion and ensuring quality outputs
  • Contribute to the development of team objectives for short term tasks and strategic planning for linger term initiatives
  • Propose and facilitate process improvement strategies and workplace practices
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of risk management and risk assessment activities
  • About You

  • To be successful in this role you will have;
  • Knowledge of end to end procurement activities, including familiarity with purchasing systems and processes
  • Previous experience within a similar role including the ability to lead and mentor a team
  • Competency with Commonwealth IT systems, SAP (CRM), and purchasing and finance management systems
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to manage relationships with stakeholders
  • Provide a quality customer service and manage more sensitive and difficult problems relating to customer service
  • Conduct quality assurance and quality control on products an processes
  • Certificate IV in Government Procurement and Contracts or similar would be advantageous
