About you and what you will bring

The Logistics & Operations Support (LOS) Lead is a key member of both the company’s Science, Engineering and Technology (SET) enabling function, and a line of business delivering niche integrated systems to Defence. 

The LOS Lead is the owner of the Integrated Logistics and Support (ILS) processes and tools within the business unit, ensuring that the business’s projects are set up and operating so as to deliver; effective, fit for purpose and supportable solutions to our Defence customers.  You will help to shape future opportunities, oversee new business and contract change responses, support technical hiring and project mobilisation, delivery and closure of the business units’ projects. 

The role encompasses the full life cycle of the ILS function, beginning in the design phase with the development of effective support concepts, the delivery of supply and maintenance activities during in-service, then through phase out and disposal activities.


Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • You will be a degree qualified engineer with between 15 – 20 years of experience in defence engineering and large ASDEFCON projects
  • Membership of IEAust with CPEng. 
  • You will have led large teams of engineers (design and integration) to deliver defence capability to an ADF customer.
  • Whilst you will be a passionate advocate of ILS, you will understand business imperatives, and be able to communicate with all levels and departments – representing ILS and related support issues in a way that can be understood by relevant audiences

KNOWLEDGE:

  • Substantial professional experience working in a project engineering environment (preferably in a similar industry)
  • Professional experience in project contract management with demonstrable record of success and achievement

SKILLS:

  • Whilst you will be a passionate advocate of ILS, you will understand business imperatives, and be able to communicate with all levels and departments – representing ILS and related support issues in a way that can be understood by relevant audiences
