Glass Street Kindergarten is a not for profit community-run kindergarten located in the leafy streets of Kew East. We offer a rich and engaging pre-school education program for both three-year-old and four-year-old groups.
Our educators are dedicated to creating a learning environment which fosters a strong sense of community. They actively promote and encourage parental contribution and involvement while building strong community partnerships.
Glass Street Kindergarten is seeking an experienced Early Childhood Teacher to work as part of its kindergarten team. Our teacher, who currently co-teaches in our four-year-old program and teaches our three-year-old program, will be going on maternity leave at the end of Term 2.
Initially, this position will be for Terms 3 and 4 only. There may be the possibility of this role continuing in 2021 with the exact hours to be determine at a later date.
During the current situation where Covid-19 is impacting upon our kindergarten’s operations, it is possible that this role will be modified over the coming weeks.
This will be as we take into consideration whether we will need to revise our program and timetable in Terms 3 and 4 (i.
e. due to fewer children returning to kindergarten). Once this is known, we will be able to confirm the exact roles and responsibilities of this position.
This is a part-time position commencing at the beginning of Term Three, 2020 and finishing at the end of Term Four, 2020.
We are seeking a passionate and enthusiastic teacher who can lead and develop a high-quality educational program for our three-year-old group and co-teach our four-year-old group, based on promoting each child’s learning across the five learning outcomes in a play-based environment.

Our teachers and educators operate in a professional manner at all times, meeting the requirements of the Department of Education and Training (DET) Kindergarten Guide, the Education and Care Services National Law Act 2010, the Education and Care Services National Regulations, and the policies and procedures of the service.

Qualification suitable for an early childhood teacher under the Education and Care Services National Law Act 2010, Education and Care Services National Regulations and the DET Kindergarten Guide.
