    Debt Advisory is one of KPMG Corporate Finance's principal lines of business, working closely with our Mergers & Acquisitions and Capital Advisory colleagues.

    The Debt Advisory group focuses on the delivery of independent capital management advice involving strategic advice for Government Departments and not-

    for-profit entities, as well as the structuring, arranging and raising of debt capital for Australian borrowers. The Debt Advisory team has capabilities to deliver the full range of debt funding structures and all sources of debt finance (bank, non-

    bank, institutional investors and government).

    Your Opportunity

    KPMG's Corporate Finance is currently recruiting for an Analyst / Assistant Manager to join their Debt Advisory team in Brisbane .

    The role is ideally suited for an experienced analyst with prior experience in credit analysis looking to take the next step in their career in an advisory environment. You will :

    Prepare and deliver credit assessment reports, sourcing data from various information and database sources. This will entail an ability to : Interpret detailed financial statements Understand key financial and credit metrics Apply credit rating methodologies Critically review third-

    party information and research

  • Produce well-structured and written reports for internal review prior to provision to clients
  • Be able to demonstrate a clear understanding of the assessment process to articulate and present materials to an internal audience
  • Perform industry targeted research and provide insights to clients
  • Continuously seek ways to improve processes, drive efficiencies and increase accuracy in the reporting deliverable and services provided
  • Develop strong relationships with service providers and internal stakeholders
  • Establish and maintain compliance to policies, procedures and systems
  • Manage administrative queries from various stakeholders
  • Collaboratively engage within the team and across the wider firm, including other ad-hoc tasks or engagements

    To be considered for this opportunity, your qualifications, skills & experience could include :

  • Experience in credit risk analysis gained from banking (institutional and corporate), credit rating agency, corporate advisory, or a related discipline
  • A relevant tertiary qualification in Commerce or similar, with a strong academic record and ability to continue relevant post graduate studies (CFA, CA, Masters in Finance)
  • Driven, self-starter with strong entrepreneurial mindset and an ambition and passion for a career in the commercial environment and corporate finance
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, report writing and presentation skills, proficiency in Microsoft Office suite
  • Strong process and procedural skills including quality assurance and risk controls
  • Demonstrate proactive engagement with stakeholders to achieve outcomes
  • Mature attitude, attention to detail, high degree of accuracy, and the ability to work closely to schedule and meet deadlines with a strong team orientation
