How will you make an impact?

You will manage the sales of the Genetic Sciences and Clinical Sequencing product portfolio across NSW and ACT. You will be a driver of business growth through the development of new business and by expanding business with current customers.

You will be recognized as a leader in selling capital equipment and associated workflow solutions within the sales force.

What will you do?

Territory Account Management, Plan & Execute to achieve Targets

  • Create the overall strategy for assigned accounts to meet and to exceed sales targets.
  • Develop relationships within accounts including at senior levels to advance Thermo Fisher's access and opportunities
  • Customer Relationship Management

  • Make regular customer calls to meet or exceed activity target
  • Identify new business opportunities and work with the Sales Manager to develop sales potential.
  • Sales Promotion

  • Attend Trade Exhibitions as required to generate leads and prospects for the company's products.
  • Conduct customer specific promotions to encourage sales growth and the development of a positive company position.
  • Product / Market Knowledge

  • Constantly develop product knowledge through company literature and other independent sources of technical information.
  • Demonstrate knowledge in general life science techniques such as nucleic acid extraction, real time PCR and DNA / RNA sequencing.
  • Budgets / targets

  • Essential to meet Revenue and Gross Profit sales targets as set each year for the defined territory and contribute to the achievement of the region goals.
  • How will you get here?


  • Tertiary qualifications in Science and strong life science knowledge.
  • A Master Degree or PhD in life sciences is highly desirable
  • Experience

  • Sales experience - at least 2 years relevant experience in sales and account relationship management preferred. A Strong knowledge of local market and products is desired.
  • Experience in a wide range of molecular biology techniques including Sample Preparation, PCR, Real Time PCR, DNA and RNA Sequencing.
  • Knowledge & Abilities

  • Strategic and tactical market development skills.
  • Ability to think and implement from a customer-centric perspective, building and fostering strong customer relationships.
  • Goal orientated, with strong sales attributes, a demonstrated track record of and passion for sales success. Strong commercial acumen with the ability to report clearly and concisely and manage accurate sales forecasting.
  • Planning and Organising Establishing a clear course of action to accomplish goals and objectives. Time management skills, effective use of resources and systems, ability to prioritise activities, completion of tasks.
  • Sound administration skills.
