We are seeking to hire a motivated Senior NPI Production Engineer to join our collaborative, high growth organization located at our office based in Lane Cove, Sydney , Australia.

The Senior NPI Production Engineer will impact the business leading NPI, manufacturing, maintenance and sustaining activities.

Leveraging excellent communications skills and thorough understanding of the NPI life cycle to assist the Production Manager in coordinating various projects within the Production team and other key stakeholders to ensure delivery on time, while maintaining cost and quality.


New Product Introduction (NPI) :

  • Lead New Product Introduction (NPI) activities with Contract Manufacturers (CMs)
  • Responsible production Build plans development and tracking, BOM management, equipment and parts procurement, and good-to-list (GTL) tracking.
  • Ensure required NPI and change control processes are followed for all configuration changes (ECR / ECO / MCO).
  • Develop production capacity planning with cost details, obtain approvals and maintain cost tracker for review with management.
  • Maintain effective communications with internal & external stakeholders Contract Manufacturers, Product Managers, Project / Program Managers, Supply Chain, etc.
  • Production Planning and System Development :

  • Develop Manufacturing Test Requirements in coordination with cross functional teams (HW, SW, Mechanical, etc.), facilitate review and obtain approvals.
  • Coordinate tasks with production team members on design and implementation of Automated Test Systems (ATS).
  • Roll up sleeves to support testing and debug of issues when necessary.
  • Support ATS development team with scripting, process optimisation, data analysis, SOP creation, etc. to ensure timely production readiness.
  • Quality & sustaining activities :

  • Champion Quality Assurance processes; gather all production stats for reviewing & reporting on a timely basis.
  • Document processes, manage issues / requirements in Confluence / JIRA.
  • Track production issues and coordinate activities for providing resolution in a quick turnaround.
  • Coordinate internal resources to provide ongoing support to offshore Contract Manufacturers and 3PL’s.
  • Support RCA & CAPA for issues in production devices and / or processes. Facilitate reviews and ensure timely resolution of the issues.

  • Undergraduate degree in Science or Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or similar).
  • 10+ years’ experience with manufacturing processes
  • Excellent leadership, management and communication skills
  • Able to build and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders both internally and externally - CM’s, Product Managers, Project / Program Managers, Supply Chain, etc. essential.
  • Proficient in documentation for development and operational processes
  • Familiar with JIRA or similar tools for issue tracking and task allocation
  • Famililar with BOM management and change tracking
  • Sound knowledge of supply chain and inventory management practices
  • Understand manufacturing and quality assurance processes
  • Understand data analysing and reporting
  • Experience in Project Management, Process Integration or a similar role in a manufacturing environment
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally as needed
  • Experienced with mass production of electronics within telecommunication or network devices advantage
