We are looking for someone who :

  • Has sound experience in general office administration and providing support to managers and other executive staff.

  • In this role, you will undertake administrative activities to support high-quality work across our business unit. Your typical day may include : reception duties;
  • minute-taking; diary management; travel and accommodation bookings; tracking and monitoring of correspondence and issues;
  • and general record-keeping. In our business unit, you’ll be involved in reviewing processes and procedures, and some days will be all hands-on deck’.

    KEY POSITION REQUIREMENTS :

    To be considered suitable for this position you will have proven experience in the following key areas :

  • High-quality word-processing skills and experience with computerised office software packages, including data bases and spreadsheets.
  • Office administration within an emergency services or operational work environment.
  • Providing individualised administrative support to a management team within an operational environment.
  • Dealing with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders.
  • Sound organisational skills.
  • Self-motivation and ability to work with minimal supervision.

    DFES is an emergency services organisation and all employees may be required to work outside of normal business hours to assist with emergencies.

    NATIONAL POLICE CERTIFICATE

    A condition of employment for new employees of DFES is that a current National Police Certificate (less than 03 months old) is provided prior to commencement.

    ELIGIBILITY TO APPLY You must be an Australian Citizen or hold permanent residency, or a working visa covering the term of the contract (proof must be provided with your application) to be eligible for this position.
