Customer Technical Support (Life Science)

Maternity Relief

  • Maternity relief position, (12 months)
  • Full time, 38 hours per week

    We are seeking an experienced Customer Technical Support Specialist to provide phone & email support to both internal & external customers, with a concentration in Life Sciences.

    As part of the Technical Support team, this challenging role is responsible for delivering a consistently high quality customer service, support & troubleshooting for our customers.

    This is a fixed term, maternity relief position of up to 12 months and will be based in our Gladesville office.

    Responsibilities include but are not limited to :

  • Provide accurate and timely responses to technical queries from initial enquiry, right through to resolution
  • Accurate entry into company database, in accordance with internal procedures
  • Escalate cases as appropriate & follow up to ensure completion
  • Work closely and constructively with Field Service, Customer Service and Sales teams.
  • Continuously & proactively build on product knowledge and competencies
  • Research & practical application of online resources as required
  • Produce technical material & documentation for internal and external use
  • Ideally, you will posses the following attributes :

  • 2 - 3 years laboratory experience
  • Strong Customer service experience, laboratory experience and experience with life science equipment / tests.
  • Proven track record of achieving customer satisfaction in a technical support environment
  • Proactive and passionate about delivering a high standard of customer service & support
  • Prior experience in a customer Life Science instrument support or super user training will be an added advantage
  • Experience building rapport & maintaining strong customer relationships
  • Excellent written, oral communication and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent computer skills
  • Ability to learn new systems quickly
  • Good problem solving skills & ability to overcome obstacles
  • Goal orientated team player
  • Positive attitude.
  • Commercial experience along with previous experience in a similar role and in the biotech industry would be highly regarded.

    Working knowledge of one or more Bio-Rad Chromatography, Imaging, ddPCR or Amplification instruments will be an added advantage.
