The COVID-19 Communications Team is establishing a pool of officers (Levels 3 to 8), to support the communications work in relation to COVID-19 WA Recovery Plan and emergency response requirements over the next 12 months.
There are a number of immediate opportunities, with additional officers to be recruited as needed over the next 12 months.
About the roles :
The COVID-19 Communications Team supports the WA Government in the development and delivery of communication strategies for the WA Recovery Plan and emergency response communications.
This unit operates in a fast-paced, flexible and responsive environment that needs to adapt to rapid changes whilst dealing with competing deadlines.
The positions we are looking to fill range from Level 3 to Level 8, depending on the applicants’ breadth of experience and level of relevant knowledge and skills.
To assist you to identify your best fit in the various teams, the following is a brief outline on the work that you would be expected to perform :
Management Team : You will have considerable communications experience and provide leadership in a fast-paced environment with competing deadlines, as you deliver information to the public through a broad range of media.
There will be an expectation to respond to rapid changes in government directions and respond to the issue of the day.
Strategic Communications Team : You will be primarily responsible for preparing and executing stakeholder engagement strategies for recovery and emergency communications.
The critical strength required in this team is the ability to collaborate with key internal and external stakeholders, to develop and implement strategic communications plans.
Content Team : You will be writing and editing communications material for a variety of media platforms including websites, social media, fact sheets, advertisements, news scripts and media releases.
Campaigns Team : You will be part of a team that delivers complex, high profile marketing campaigns that are creative, yet informative within tight timeframes.
Digital Team : You will be responsible for developing digital content including graphic design, social media, digital campaigns and websites.
Office Management Team : You will be responsible for administrative roles, including coordinating human resource, financial and logistical functions.
