Brookfield Properties currently has an Assistant Development Manager role available in the Melbourne office. This role is responsible for overseeing the progress of development projects, taking a hands-on role in the management and coordination of all aspects of property development including design, construction, marketing, leasing and sales, finance, and legal / contractual issues.
The key tasks that this role will be responsible for include, but are not limited to :
Assisting in monitoring and reporting on detailed project budgets, monthly cashflow forecasting schedules and updated delivery programs.
Liaising with property analysts to monitor project feasibilities.
Assisting in financial control / reporting (internally and to partners) on development projects.
Responsible for processing construction financing draws, managing all obligations in accordance with loan agreements.
Coordinating processing of payments for project
Assisting with early feasibility reviews for new development opportunities
Preparing Development Management Reports and other reports as required.
Supporting and co-ordinating the contribution of the marketing, sales, leasing, and financing teams to the project outcomes.
Coordinating and consulting with, key project staff (e.g. Contracts Administrators, Architects, Planners and Consultants) throughout the development project to ensure delivery within time, cost, quality, and contractual requirements.
Participating in ongoing liaison, communications, and negotiations with external project stakeholders including real estate agents, government authorities, and JV partners, to ensure successful delivery of development projects.
Monitoring project risks, developing and implementing actions to mitigate risks and manage issues.
Administering all project documents to ensure enforcement of rights and compliance with all obligations.
Ensuring accurate and timely information is available for monthly Management Reports, covering all aspects of each project Instruct and manage external project management consultants
Assisting with the formulation and administration of marketing, leasing and sale campaigns, as required.
Assisting Leasing in securing new lease deals. Assisting in the documentation, execution and delivery of Agreements for Lease & Leases.
Assisting in the management of relationships with secured tenants; assist with their build-outs and move-ins.
Supporting the design management team to appoint and coordinate the consultant teams, including the leadership of the design management, value management, documentation and delivery processes.
Qualifications and Experience :
Solid commercial and financial understanding (Estate Master)
Background in Building, Construction, Land Economics, Engineering or Quantity Surveying
Core Project Management Capability
Strong knowledge of property / construction related legal documentation and issues
Exposure to various fields including banking, finance, law, or architecture would be valuable
Minimum experience approximately 3-5 years experience with project development emphasis
Bachelors degree relevant fields include Construction, Engineering, Land Economics, Law, or similar OR- significant experience in development projects in the construction / building industries
Supplementary training in real estate, property development, contract / project management, marketing an advantage
