  • Provide service related assistance by way of phone support
  • Provide pre-delivery tasks on new crane imported and following the pre-delivery inspections provide customer training on delivery
  • Carry our end of warranty inspections and repairs
  • Third party supplier (engine and transmission) preform diagnostics using OEM diagnostic tools
  • Manitowoc Systems diagnostics and repairs following Manitowoc procedures as per provided product training
  • Efficient at reading and following electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic drawings to provide further diagnostics to assist in the timely repairs of machines
  • Attend field breakdowns and repair crane in a timely manner
  • Carry out product updates and service bulletins to maintain safety and reliability of the machines
  • Maintain service reports and submit these in a timely manner upon completion of repair
  • Communicate with the factories and COE’s for repair processes and diagnostic information
  • Provide feedback on component failure
  • Train distributors in the commissioning of the first new product
  • Analyses and troubleshoot warranty problems when beyond the scope of the distributor or customer
  • Interact with Manitowoc Crane Group based personnel on matters pertaining to service materials, product requirements, availability, and code compliance
  • Plans & coordinates activities concerned with investigating and resolving customer reports of technical problems by utilizing applicable processes to eliminate future operational or service difficulties
  • Analyses reports of technical problems to determine trends affecting future design, production, service and maintenance processes and recommends modifications to eliminate future problems
  • Any other duties assigned by superior from time to time
  • Job Requirements :

  • High School with 5-8 years of technical service & support related working experience preferably in the crane industry or heavy equipment industry
  • OEM or dealer experience in heavy equipment / Crane background is advantageous
  • Specialist training in the crane industry or on Manitowoc Cranes is advantageous.
  • Trade certificate in either Mechanical or Electrical trades, with a high level of automotive and Canbus electrical diagnostic skills
  • Fault finding and diagnostic skills in Electrical, hydraulic, engine, drive-line, braking and general maintenance and repairs in Heavy equipment or LBCC and Mobile Cranes
  • Ability to read and work with electronic and hydraulic schematics
  • Possess strong analytical skills in the evaluation of reports of technical issues, research findings; and / or output of a system / process etc
  • To be familiar with all aspects of Windows and Microsoft office
  • Conversant with product specific software programs
  • Must be able to lift 50lbs and work at above average levels of physical activity
  • Must be able to travel more than 75% of the time and able to work safely on-site and in our workshop environment
  • Should understand general crane hire operations to be able to relate to our end users wants and needs and be able to communicate clearly
