Our Perth based Water Science team have opportunities for permanent (part-time and full time) positions for a range of experience levels.

The available positions range from Graduate to Project level hydrologists roles that would suit graduates and professionals with a background (experience or education) in hydrology, hydrogeology, environmental science and water engineering.

Involving both field and office-based work, this is an exciting opportunity to join a well-respected team and gain exposure to associated disciplines within the hydrology and water management sector as well as exposure to the broader range of environmental and water services offered by RPS.

Key responsibilities

  • The collection, compilation, presentation, and evaluation / analysis of technical and field hydrological and hydrogeological data.
  • Execute field investigations including drilling supervision, groundwater sampling, surface water sampling, infiltration testing etc.
  • Manage field programs and water monitoring programs and associated data.
  • Draft water management report including urban water management reports such a DWMS, LWMS and UWMP.
  • Providing knowledgeable advice on the water management challenges and approvals process in WA;
  • Providing conceptual advice on practical water management solutions;
  • Qualifications

  • Relevant tertiary qualification in Civil or Environmental Engineering, Science or equivalent;
  • Experience in preparation of water management reporting;
  • Experience in conducting field monitoring programs and supervising site investigations;
  • 1 to 6 years' experience in environmental / hydrological / hydrogeological / water management;
  • Demonstrated experience in GIS, surface water modelling and / or groundwater modelling is desirable.
  • Demonstrate a desire for professional development and self-motivation for continual learning.
  • Ability to self manage and prioritise workloads
  • Excellent time management skills with the ability to work independently;
  • Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills;
  • Confident and flexible attitude to office and field-based work assignments;
  • Proficiency in MS Office;
  • Full driving licence is essential.
