Job Overview & Purpose* :

To manage and grow a portfolio of rural clients, in accordance with bank and branch goals for profitability, client satisfaction and credit quality.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities* :

  • Meet individual target for new and existing business growth and manage / develop a portfolio of clients, by developing client relationships.
  • Manage complex clients and accounts.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of the branch marketing plans, business plans and budgets.
  • Assist the branch manager in ensuring that the branch performs at or better than budgeted goals & targets , also ensuring compliance & in building and maintaining Rabobank profile in the market place
  • Ensure high customer satisfaction and maintain high customer advocacy rates.
  • Ensure the credit application process is completed to a high standard with minimal reworks.
  • Identify poor-performing assets early and ensure appropriate action taken to resolve.
  • Ensure compliance with the bank’s policies and procedures at all times, including Audit, Compliance, Business Continuity and Credit (excesses, reviews, client conditions).
  • Contribute to the achievement of the Bank's CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) goals and objectives and adhere to CSR policies.
  • Manage and resolve customer complaints and disputes in a timely manner.
  • Coach and mentor branch staff as required.
  • A condition of the position is completion of training to provide general advice on deposits. This includes both Rabobank-specific training and ongoing learning, in line with ASIC RG146 requirements’
  • Other duties as directed.
  • Qualifications* :

  • Degree in agriculture, business, finance or related discipline.
  • Experience* :

  • 5+ years’ experience in a rural banking account management role, as a Rural Manager or similar in another bank.
  • Higher level of experience, performance, technical expertise and leadership required for appointment as Senior Rural Manager.
  • Experience in property valuation (desirable).
  • Knowledge* :

  • Sound knowledge of the rural industry.
  • Knowledge of specialised financial products.
  • Ability to develop sound knowledge of client operations.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
