The successful candidate in this role owns the commercial operations of the region (Australia and New Zealand) & leads market development for GE Transportation / Wabtec Freight businesses (Digital, Locomotive & Services) in the region.
In the Commercial Operations Leader role, the person will interface with the sales team to ensure solution offering is aligned with new or enhance existing products or product line(s).
In the Market Development responsibilities of this role, the person will define and execute winning deal strategies to expand our footprint in new product & solutions areas or with new customers in region.
Provide prompt and responsive service to the sales team, work with them to identify customer CTQ’s and translate the requirements to commercial offerings
Establish relationships and interface with engineering, manufacturing, sourcing, and the commercial sales team, to ensure solution offering is aligned with new or enhance existing product(s) or product line(s)
Manage the Value Solution development process to ensure that a quality proposal is delivered within the designated time
Take ownership of the continuous adherence to internal Policy 5.0, Tollgate, and Deal Review processes and approvals
Ongoing focus on ITO process simplification making the process more efficient, with the right metrics
Play an active part in the deal negotiation, and contract development
Will work to drive deal profitability by balancing customer and market requirements working seamlessly with other functions such as engineering, supply chain and sales team.
Qualifications / Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Technical equivalent from an accredited college or university
Minimum of 3 years of Commercial experience (developing / writing highly complex winning proposals, market analysis, sales)
Strong process and operational skills
Experience and proven ability to work in cross-functional teams
Good analytical ability
