About the role

Mater Group Finance has an exceptional opportunity to join their team in the role of Management Accountant- Investment Proposals .

Reporting to the Director Decision Support, this role will be offered in a permanent and full time capacity and based at our South Brisbane campus.

The key purpose of this role is to support the continued financial viability of Mater Health through ensuring the finance components of the full investment / business case process is both efficient and effective.

This is achieved through both the provision of accurate and timely financial and operational information into the investment process, as well as involvement in the associated processes.

This roles focus is the Strategic Investments initiatives but will also support Refurbishment and Replacement (R&R) Business cases if time permits.

What you’ll be doing

  • In conjunction with the Director Enterprise Project Management Office and Manager Finance Corporate Support, Budget and Project Costing you will maintain investment cycle work schedule
  • Finance lead in relation to strategic investments including business cases and post implementation reviews.
  • Provide support to R&R business cases as time permits
  • Development of finance models underpinning the the investment proposals
  • Support ongoing process improvement across the investment cycle including templates, tools and processes.
  • Provide regular updates and insights into the investment cycle progress to Director Decision Support and Group CFO
  • Coordinate in conjunction with Director Decision Support third party reviews of SIC business cases as required
  • Oversee as required additional finance resources allocated to work within the SIC investment cycle
  • Liaise with business partners to acquire the relevant information required across the Strategic Investment cycle stages
  • As time permits, support the overall team in process improvement and associated work
  • Provide input into the annual operating budget process as it relates to the overall investment cycle
  • About you

    To be successful in this role you have demonstrated success in a similar role within a large and complex organisation coupled with the below :

  • Use of Cognos Reporting and Analysis tools or equivalent
  • Development of complex excel models
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability work across multiple levels within the organsiation
  • Experience within a healthcare setting would be highly advantageous to your application.
