A new opportunity has arisen for a Maximum Term Financial Accountant to join Comdain's Finance Team, a subsidiary of Service Stream Ltd (ASX : SSM).
Under normal operating conditions the role will be based in Epping with an occasional need to work from our Collins Street office.
During the current COVID-19 pandemic, the role will be required to work from home in line with SSM company-wide directives.
The Financial Accountant is responsible for supporting the financial accounting and reporting functions of a number Business Unit within the Comdain Group.
The successful candidate’s responsibilities will include but not be limited to :
Providing comprehensive financial accounting service to various business unit. This includes the production of accurate and timely financial information including cashflows and KPI’s together with insightful analysis and commentary.
Reviewing project / contract financial performanceUndertaking detailed review of specific contracts / projects each month, including appropriateness of accounting assumptions adopted, compliance with relevant Accounting Standards, appropriateness and completeness of project accruals, and the accuracy of the financial reports as a whole.
Helping to drive a cash focused culture within the Business, including project specific cash flow reporting and working capital analysis.
Acting as a key point of contact for specific Business Units on all financial matters.Assisting in the preparation of annual budgets and monthly forecastsAssisting with the preparation of annual and half yearly audit files and being a key point of contact for the auditors.
Identifying, recommending and implementing process improvement strategies within the financial accounting and reporting function.
What do you bring?
This opportunity is ideally suited to an experienced Finance Professional, exposure to civil construction, utilities or related industries is preferred but not essential.
Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar roleStrong financial accounting and reporting skillsConfidence and drive to recommend process improvement strategies and the ability to see these through to implementationsBachelor of Commerce, Business Management or AccountingWorking towards becoming a Member of Institute of Charted Accountants or Certified Practicing AccountantAbility to work from home or our Epping and CBD locations
