The Brotherhood of St Laurence has a vacancy for a highly motivated Social Worker with the Social Connections and Respite team based in Frankston.

This is part time position 2 days per week reporting to the Program Manager. The position will provide counselling, clinical assessment, active referrals and advocacy for vulnerable clients eligible for HACC PYP supports.

What you will be doing

  • Providing outreach supports to vulnerable members of the local community
  • Engaging vulnerable clients through proactive approaches such as facilitating events and coordinating with local organisations
  • Building and maintain networks with other service providers and referral services
  • Maintaining records, assisting clients with enquires, ensuring they receive accurate information on available services
  • Maintaining records, data and report to meet business and funding requirements
  • Maintaining the client management system
  • Assisting the team, coordinating team events and supporting a one team approach
  • To be successful you require :

  • Previous experience in as a Social Worker in the Community sector
  • Registration with the Australian Association of Social Workers (preferred)
  • Ability to solve problems requiring creative solutions to achieve outcomes
  • Proven ability to advocate for clients
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Excellent communication and time management skills
  • Excellent can do’ attitude
  • This is a part time position 2 days per week Until 30 June 2021. Additional hours are available for out of hour events
