  • About the role

  • The Master Data Assistant is responsible for the high level accuracy of product and pricing data;
  • to act accordingly with precision when data errors occur
  • to comprehend the flow on effects of data across systems and business stakeholders
  • to accurately maintain all aspects of master data
  • The Master Data Assistant is responsible for product and pricing data across dual maintained Independent Hardware Group (IHG) systems (AX and COM), in support of members, suppliers and IHG.

    What You Will Do

  • To deliver and maintain all aspects of master data (product and price) across dual maintained IHG systems (AX and COM)
  • To action master data requests complete and correct first time to a 95% target
  • To action the number of master data requests evenly across all Master Data Assistants (eg : 50% of workload across 2 team members) includes weekly exception reporting
  • To support the Merchandise team and its stakeholders in data integrity analysis, identifying and addressing master data related issues
  • To provide support and testing to Systems Integration team as IHG transitions to a single database management system
  • To support the Merchandise team in delivery of other business requirements based on business need
  • What You Will Bring

  • 2 years minimum Retail Experience
  • Preferred knowledge of AX and Retek / COM
  • Demonstrated intermediate to advanced computing skills (with specific reference to Microsoft Excel)
  • Knowledge and understanding of suppliers, departments and products, preferably within the Hardware sector
  • Strong ability to communicate and educate decisions in accordance with key accountabilities and responsibilities
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a fast changing environment, with limited supervision, working to business deadlines
  • Ability to follow up requirements both internally and externally whilst educating repercussions to non-adherence to agreed timeframes
  • Excellent organisational and planning skills in managing a personal workload in a busy environment with conflicting demands
