About The Role

We are actively seeking the talents of an innovative and engaging leader to join our team in the capacity of Superintendent Technology Control Systems.

Reporting to the Manager, Technology Control Systems, this role presents a terrific opportunity to maintain operational stability, availability and performance of Control Systems across the Technology portfolio supporting safe MAC and Yandi operations.

In this highly visible role, active collaboration and effective partnerships with production, maintenance, reliability and technology teams will be central to success.

In addition, in this challenging leadership role, you will be tasked with the following :

  • Actively participating in BHPs Field Leadership safety system to lead and create a safe, respectful and inclusive workplace and culture
  • Leading a diverse team supporting the Control Systems portfolio and end to end services.
  • Providing leadership and direction for the safe execution of incident and maintenance activities to reduce failure rates and downtime of equipment pertaining to Control Systems at Yandi and MAC / SF.
  • Leading, coaching and mentoring team members to ensure delivery against performance targets
  • Developing and nurture excellent relationships with Technology teams, key operational personnel, service partners and vendors
  • Driving a culture of continuous improvement across people, process, technology and cost
  • About You

    To be successful in this role you will be an extremely collaborative and influential Leader with outstanding negotiation and stakeholder engagement skills.

    You are team oriented and results focused with a demonstrated track record in mentoring and coaching others to achieve results.

    You have previous success in developing cohesive, high performing teams, are incredibly results focused with a demonstrated track record driving effective business outcomes.

    In addition, we are ideally looking for the following skills and experience :

  • Tertiary qualification in Electrical Engineering, Process Control Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering or related discipline
  • Experience in the implementation and operational support of mission critical solutions in large scale environments and organizations, preferably Mining / Resources.
  • Experience with PLC / SCADA design, development, testing and commissioning for large scale bulk handling operations
  • Excellent technical communication and problem solving skills supported with an understanding of root cause analysis techniques
  • Demonstrated ability in effectively leading high performance teams including third-party vendors and service providers
  • Experience in driving continuous improvement
  • We are committed to supporting employment within Western Australia. To be considered for this role, you must currently reside in WA or be willing to relocate to WA for the duration of your employment.

    A relocation package will be provided for Interstate applicants.

    Location

    You will be based at either our Area C or Yandi mine site on a fly-in fly-out 5 / 2 : 4 / 3 roster. Our Area C mine is located approximately 100kms North West of Newman, West Australia.

    The outstanding facilities at the FIFO village include; a fully equipped gym, swimming pool, netted cricket pitch, tennis and basketball court, beach volleyball court and recreation room including a pool table, darts, table tennis, TV and DVD player.

    All rooms at the village have their own ensuite bathroom, television, refrigerator and air-conditioning.
