Our Team & Opportunity

The past 18 months have seen significant transformation for Vanguard Australia in business strategy and in the discipline of Marketing.

A strategy to grow our direct to investor offering has seen the Personal Investor platform launched in 2020 and it was announced that Vanguard will develop a Superannuation offer to enter the market in 2021.

Vanguard also appointed its first Global Chief Marketing Officer and in Australia, Marketing is now a standalone function with a growth agenda to serve both our intermediary clients as well as direct to investors.

To deepen our understanding of the needs of our investors, we will be recruiting for a Customer Research Analyst to join our Insights and Analytics Centre of Excellence (CoE).

This newly created role will be a member of the Analytics Leadership Team. It will lead the end to end design and execution of customer research projects through partnering with relevant key stakeholders to identify business research questions and external research firms as required.

  • We are looking for an articulate story teller of data, who is equally comfortable operating at a strategic level, as they are '
  • rolling up their sleeves' in executing to deliverables in order to set up our customer research capabilities. A strong knowledge of research methodology, experience in project management, change leadership and quantitative / qualitative synthesis skills are essential to success in this role.

    What you will do

  • Consult with key stakeholders to identify business objectives, determine methodology and scope, as well as project manage end to end customer research implementation
  • Conducts research and / or partners with external vendors using qualitative and quantitative methods. Interprets trends, research findings and synthesizes recommended insights and actions aligned with business priorities.
  • These may be a combination of primary and secondary data

  • Present research findings to stakeholders, gain buy-in from key decision makers, and insight / action recommendations to facilitate decision-making process
  • Exercise change leadership to uplift data literacy through implementation of people, process & technology initiatives
  • Deepen the capabilities of the Insights & Analytics Centre of Excellence (CoE) by staying across industry trends, as well as partnering with US teams to leverage and introduce customer research best practice
  • What we are looking for

  • Undergraduate degree in a related field is desirable and any relevant post graduate qualifications would be highly regarded
  • Deep knowledge of market and investor dynamics in the financial services industry, particularly Investment Management would be highly regarded
  • Demonstrated experience with primary and secondary customer research methodology and vendor management across both B2B and B2C
  • Previous experience with 'voice of client' tools and platforms and its integration with marketing technology
  • Significant vendor management experience
