About this role :
Prevention and Response to Violence Abuse and Neglect (PARVAN) is the lead NSW Health Unit addressing the complex issue of Aboriginal family violence, leading trauma informed responses to the health needs of Aboriginal clients and communities in contact with the NSW Health system.
We are seeking a highly motivated Senior Policy Officer to join our Sexual Assault & Medical and Forensic Team to work in this dynamic portfolio.
The Prevention and Response to Violence Abuse and Neglect Unit leads the NSW Health policy response to violence, abuse and neglect against adults and children.
The unit is situated within Government Relations Branch.
What you'll be doing :
The Senior Policy Officer provides high-level advice on the development of strategic plans and policy related to Aboriginal Family Violence for NSW Health.
The role oversees the Aboriginal Family Wellbeing and Violence Prevention Strategy and the state-wide workforce employed under the Strategy.
Within this role you will also be required to develop and support the implementation of best practice policies, programs, projects, and activities for the Ministry of Health, public health organisations, and related government agencies and provide policy advice to support the achievement of NSW Health’s objectives in relation to the prevention of and response to violence, abuse and neglect.
