Canva recently announced the acquisition of one of the world’s biggest free stock content sites - Pixabay. Pixabay contains more than 1 million free images, and videos provided by our talented and generous global community.

To take Pixabay to the next level, we are looking for someone to help with community initiatives to grow and engage our passionate community of photographers, videographers, illustrators and audio producers.

That’s where you come in.

We’re looking for a go-getting community manager that has a background in illustration, videography or other creative mediums.

You’ll drive the day to day engagement of our Forum as well as social media and support channels. You are a risk taker, embrace experimenting with new ideas, thrive in ambiguity and love big challenges.

You’ll have a fountain of knowledge when it comes to community management, social platforms, social and cultural trends, analytics and engagement metrics, tools and social insights.

What you'll do

  • Work with the customer support specialist to update customer support processes including introducing a CRM and support macros
  • Expand our engagement strategy to include events, content marketing and gamification
  • Manage social media engagement through Facebook and Instagram
  • Work with the community manager to establish a community leader program
  • Facilitate engaging conversations with the community on a daily basis
  • Other community tasks as needed
  • What you'll bring

  • An Illustration or Videography nerd : you’ve worked in the videography or the design industry and can identify with the audience.
  • You can hold your own in a conversation about creating art in one or both of these mediums with others.

  • A Moderation Wizard : you’ve had experience engaging with customers across social platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and forums.
  • You know how to keep the trolls at bay while encouraging great engagement the community

  • A Community builder you understand how to build and maintain a sense of community and have experience in cultivating an online community around a brand.
  • A thoughtful problem solver : whether out in the community or in a team meeting, you enjoy the challenge of solving problems that oftentimes have no obvious solution.
  • You are adept at learning from the wins and failures, roll with the punches when things don’t go according to plan and can map out next steps and solutions to achieve your goal.

  • A strong communicator . You are drawn to the unique two-way conversations social media encourages and know how it can be leveraged to create raving fans.
  • You thrive in a cross-functional team across different time zones and you can understand and communicate the why’ of your strategies and how it maps to wider business goals.

    You’ll also have impeccable written and verbal English communication skills. Fluency in German is highly regarded.
