The Organisational Performance Reporting Division (OPR) is a leader in the WA public sector in business intelligence and the use of visual analytics.

The role of OPR is to provide information and analysis supporting decision making at the strategic, management, operational and tactical levels to support the Western Australia Police Force (WA Police Force) achieve better outcomes for the community.

  • OPR has two teams : A Data Management Unit (DMU) who are responsible for sourcing, architecture and engineering data pipelines from WA Police applications and provision it into the SAS and SQL platform;
  • and Performance Reporting Unit (PRU) who are responsible for developing information products, delivering internal performance frameworks, national and parliamentary reporting and infographics.

    The Senior Data Warehouse Analyst designs, develops and manages the engineering of data pipelines and databases for the purpose of provisioning data to support the extraction of statistical information and reports relating to incident based information.


    It is a requirement that the position holder is successful in obtaining and maintaining a NEGATIVE VETTING LEVEL 2 security clearance for the duration of their appointment in the position.

    Only Australian Citizens are eligible to hold and maintain the NEGATIVE VETTING LEVEL 2 security clearance. Any applicants who are currently not an Australian Citizen must be aware that this is an essential requirement to fulfil this position (please refer to the attached position description).

    Whilst there is nothing to preclude applicants from applying for the position if they have not yet been granted Australian Citizenship, applicants who are successful should be aware that they cannot be appointed unless they are in the process of applying for Australian Citizenship and are eligible to receive a waiver.

    Applicants are asked to address the following nominated work related requirements in no more than two (2) pages :

    Experience in data warehousing and data warehouse management

  • Managing the ETL process, standardising data modelling guidelines and implementing best practices
  • Data extract, transform and load skills

  • Developing scripts to extract data from transactional systems, transforming and loading into data marts for access by the Organisational Performance Reporting Analysts
  • Analytical and conceptual skills

  • Interpreting requests for statistical data and developing solutions which may require a degree of creativity
  • Applicants are also required to submit a Comprehensive Curriculum Vitae (CV). Your CV should provide enough detail (dot points are sufficient) to allow the selection panel to assess your skills, experience and qualifications relevant to the Key Accountabilities of the attached Position Description Form.

    The CV must also include the names and contact details of two (2) referees who can comment on the applicant’s ability to satisfy all of the Essential Work Related Requirements.

    Applicants should nominate at least one immediate (most contemporary) supervisor / manager unless exceptional circumstances exist.

    Please note : For applicants deemed suitable, all Essential Work Related Requirements listed in the Position Description Form will be assessed at some stage during the selection process.


    Whilst this selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy, it may also be used to fill other similar vacancies throughout the metropolitan area.

    In addition to this, should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position, then the panel may select another suitable applicant from this selection process.

    Both of these options remain valid for a period of twelve (12) months from the initial date of the appointment.

    Integrity and criminal checks will be conducted if the recommended applicant for this position is not a current WA Police Force employee.

    Any relocation costs associated with appointment to this position may be the responsibility of the successful applicant.
