At Amazon Web Services (AWS), we’re hiring highly technical security consultants to help our customers and partners build the confidence and technical capability to accelerate cloud adoption and innovation securely.
We do this by operationalizing the shared responsibility model and delivering security best practices, methodologies and solutions that effectively manage risk.
Our Security, Risk and Compliance consultants collaborate with customers to creatively address security and compliance challenges, implementing and migrating customer solutions and workloads onto AWS.
We need someone who will thrive in a fast-paced environment and will be able to earn the customer’s trust while providing their perspective and guidance on developing and executing an innovative security strategy.
This role will specialize in all aspects of information security management as well as the risk and regulatory compliance considerations of using cloud web services in large scale computing environments.
They will provide architecture guidance, conduct customer workshops, lead groundbreaking proof-of-concept projects, support migration of existing workloads and development of new applications using AWS services.
Responsibilities include :
Expertise - Collaborate with AWS field sales, pre-sales, training and support teams to help partners and customers learn and use AWS services such as Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2), Amazon Simple Storage Service (S3), Amazon DynamoDB / RDS databases, AWS Identity and Access Management (IAM), Security, Identity, & Compliance, etc.
Solutions - Define and deliver technical security focused engagements with partners and customers. This includes participating in pre-sales on-site visits, understanding customer security and compliance requirements, proposing and delivering packaged offerings, and delivering custom solution engagements.
Delivery - Engagements include short on-site projects proving the use of AWS services to support new distributed computing solutions that often span private cloud and public cloud services as well as longer term engagements that involve migration of existing applications and development of new applications using AWS cloud services.
Insights - Work with AWS engineering, support and business teams to convey partner and customer feedback as provide input to AWS technology roadmaps.
Role location is flexible : Either Melbourne or Sydney.

Extensive experience across IT security, security compliance and risk management;
Experience architecting secure cloud environments;
Strong experience working in a consulting capacity with customers and ability to lead effectively across organizations;
Sound knowledge of cloud computing technologies and workload transition challenges;
Familiarity with industry compliance and security standards including NIST cybersecurity framework, PCI DSS, ISO 27001 etc.;
Demonstrated ability to communicate complex technical matters clearly and concisely both in written and verbal form.
Implementation experience with enterprise security solutions such as identity management, federation systems, WAF, IPS, Anti-DDOS, and SIEM;
Experience with modern scripting and programming languages;
Experience developing security services or cloud-native software; and
Demonstrated ability to think strategically about business, product, and technical challenges.
